Guy Walks Across America
Check out this stop-motion video of Mike’s walk from New York to San Francisco. It took 2,750 still frames, 14 days, and 2 pairs of Levi’s. While the reality of him actually across the States in that timeframe is debatable by some, the artistic concept behind the work is pretty impressive as is the production value.


Serenity Now
While our love for Seinfeld holds no bounds, we don’t have enough time to re-edit clips of the show and create funky trailers. Luckily for us, there are plenty of other YouTube users out there who can step in and do it for us. Here’s a re-arrangement of Seinfeld scenes which turn it into an action-thriller. Hello…Newman.

Reporter Knocks Over Kid

Many News Reporters can appear cocky and arrogant, this gentle soul makes up for it. After knocking down a kid at a skate park while trying to interview a “Wizard,” this guy’s main priority becomes to recovery of the poor kid he knocked down.

Batman Pug Theme Song

When something is as bizarre as when a Pug barks, “Batman”; you can count on a YouTube trickster to take that video and make it even better. How would they do that? Simple, sync it was the 1966 Batman theme song. It’s pure genius.

The Chipophone

Linus Akesson took an old electric organ and rewired it into a magnificent 8-bit synthesizer which he refers to as “The Chipophone”. Linus thought of just about every 8-bit parameter so that the keys, pedals, knobs, and switches can be altered to any 8-bit sound. He demonstrates this with some classic video game symphonies. Enjoy!

2010: Year of the oh-so-sexy tablet

Apple tablet is coming this spring. Magazine publishers are preparing to use the new platform as a savior for their ailing subscriptions and ad revenues -- this time, by creating something radically new, editorial content and magazine glossiness plus swipes of video, web interactivity and social media.
Sports Illustrated has unveiled one swanky prototype. Here's another, by Sara Öhrval of Bonnier, publisher of Saveur and Ski Magazine. Add a webcam to the device and you could even insert yourself, perhaps creating an ego-fueled magazine-publishing-newscast in which you, iReporters, become stars. Sounds far-fetched, but who knew typing in 140 characters would be a fad, too?

The Copenhagen Wheel - Teaser

A group of researchers of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in United States have designed a bicycle that is able to move itself by using the excess of kinetic energy from its own wheel. This modern bike was unveiled this month at the COP15 Copenhagen Conference.

This creation was named by its designers as “The Copenhagen Wheel”. It is equipped with Bluetooth connection and it is possible to connect it to an iPhone in order to see a lot of information through an app: Speed, fitness information, traffic data, distances, and pollution warnings, among others. Some people have also called this creation “Bike 2.0″; definitely, it is a very appropriate name from a cybernetic point of view, especially because it could be considered as an “online” bike and even you can share some data with your friends via social networks.

“The Wheel uses a technology similar to the KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), which has radically changed Formula One racing over the past couple of years. When you brake, your kinetic energy is recuperated by an electric motor and then stored by batteries within the wheel, so that you can have it back to you when you need it,” says Carlo Ratti, director of the MIT SENSEable City Laboratory.

According to Ritt Bjerregaard, Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, the first goal of the Copenhagen Wheel project is to promote cycling by extending the range of distance people can cover and by making the whole riding experience smoother so that even steep inclines are no longer a barrier to comfortable cycling.

“Our city’s ambition is that 50 percent of the citizens will take their bike to work or school every day. So for us, this project is part of the answer to how can we make using a bike even more attractive,” Bjerregaard added.

The new iPod touch 2010-Rumour

Given Apple's insistence on remaining tight lipped regarding rumours connected to its existing or future product range, rampant and unsubstantiated speculation never seems to venture too far from the Cupertino-based consumer electronics giant.
Bearing that in mind, with the near mythical Apple Tablet now seemingly banished to the shadows, the latest gadget-based whisper to be offered by industry watchers digs up the tried and tested 'iPod Touchwith a camera' chestnut. Feel free to click away now.
According to an unnamed “inside source” who's supposed to have spilled the beans to The Examiner, trendsetting Apple will apparently unleash a camera-equipped variant of its iPod Touch during the first half of 2010.
If the rumour holds water – and these things eventually do – the revamped Touch handset will carry the same video-only camera already integrated into the fifth-generation iPod Nano multimedia player.
According to online fanzine Apple Insider, the non-telephonic iPod Touch was supposed a receive a camera during Apple's recent product overhaul, but the planned upgrade was scrapped after the discovery of a production problem related to substandard contributory parts.
