Jeremy Renner Will Become Hawkeye in Avengers Movie

Jeremy Renner, who many of you may remember from his Oscar-nominated role in the movie “The Hurt Locker”, has been chosen as the man who will play superhero Hawkeye in the upcoming “The Avengers” movie, according to information received yesterday at Comic Con 2010.
The movie has been in production for two years following the success of Iron Man, and we got a hint at its existence following in the first movie, when after the credits, Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) meets with Tony Stark to talk about forming a group of superheroes.
The movie will be directed by Joss Whedon, who said:
“I’m writing and directing it… There will be some avenging that takes place during the film and that’s about all I can tell you. I think it’s well-known that Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) is joining us as Hawkeye, which is so exciting for me and the rest of the cast.”
Renner’s role in “The Avengers” was rumored since May, but Marvel decided to be silent until now.
