Things Found in a College Dorm Room Mini Fridge

beer 1. Beer(s) - While college is intended to be a stepping-stone for young adults to experience their first taste of freedom and soak in their higher education, it is no secret that the majority chooses to taste alcohol and soak in excess amounts of beer – the students best friend and worst enemy.
pita bread 2. Half of a Pita - College campuses across the country are graced with the Oh so wonderful Pita Pit – the trusty spot for late-night munchies that stays open ‘til 4am and even delivers up until the end! However, since most students pass out mid way through their drunken fourth meal, leftover pitas are an all-too-common finding in the dorm room mini fridge.
ranch dressing 3. Ranch Dressing - No, college kids are not storing ranch dressing in their mini fridge for their dinner salads. Quite the contrary, they keep a bottle of ranch dressing on-hand for anything but a salad. Whether it’s pizza, wings, fries or Pita Pit, if it’s edible, it can be dipped in ranch dressing.
text books 4. Text Books - When finals week gets the best of the students, delirium sets in and it’s not too unlikely to see uncommon objects put in the mini fridge in place of the common. At some point after studying/cramming over a bowl of cereal, we’re sure the text books have found their way into the refrigerator while the milk stays on the table.
milk 5. Expired Milk - When the books make it into the fridge in place of the milk, things can go awry. Everyone has the best intentions when purchasing milk because it can be used for so many things (drinking, breakfast cereal, mac n cheese, etc); however, when you’re buying for one, it’s way too easy to let a jug of milk expire.
hard liquor 6. Hard A - AKA Liquor - For those college kids that find beer to be too filling for the marathon nights of drinking, look to liquor as a solid alternative. Most hard alcohol simply tastes better when chilled so it’s not an uncommon staple within the dorm room mini fridge.
coke 7. Anything but Water - OK, so you can’t drink alcohol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week but we’ve never known college kids to take kindly to water either – unhealthy habits at all times. That said, when they’re looking to stay low-key for an evening in, a can of Coke or Mountain Dew is most likely stationed next to the liquor bottles in the mini fridge.
cold pizza 8. Cold Pizza - Outside of mac n cheese or Raman noodles, it’s an absolute anomaly for college kids to cook for themselves. Because they refuse to prepare a quality meal, pizza company XYZ typically supplies their primary nourishment. No dorm room mini fridge is complete without a slice or two of leftover pizza.
dish mold 9. Science Class Project - Between Biology 101 and Chemistry 111, a class project or two inevitably makes it home and into the fridge. Somewhere in the middle of the leftover pizza and the rotting milk, you’re bound to find a growing science project in a college student’s mini fridge.
Gatorade 10. Gatorade - Though Gatorade is marketed as a drink for athletes, it’s next best use is getting back to good after a long night of binge drinking. Whether it’s pre-hydration for an expected night out or a method of recovering, good ‘ol Gatorade is sure to be found in the dorm room mini fridge.
Georgia Bulldogs Hot Sauce 11. Georgia Bulldogs Hot Sauce - Much like the ranch dressing from above, college kids also love their hot sauces. Georgia Bulldogs Hot Sauce seems to be a brand of choice and another versatile topping for all of those to-go box take-out meals.
more beer 12. More Beer - as it mentioned that college kids like to drink? Well, when it comes to college dorm room mini fridges, you won’t find many things but you’re bound to find more than one brand of beer represented.
