As funny as that sounds, no, Samsung is not offering trades for all existing iPhone 4 owners. Instead, the Korean based phone manufacturer is taking a very active role against the fact that Apple put in the Samsung Omnia II smart phone in the emergency conference –with Apple stating that the handset suffers from antenna issues.Samsung and all the other mobile phone makers that were mentioned are quite upset about the whole thing, after all, none of the devices are actually suffering from antenna issues like the iPhone 4. Sure, the signal drops a little when the device is held in a certain way, but calls do not drop at all. This is quite unlike the iPhone 4 on so many ways that Apple simply dug a deeper hole by coming out with such a conference in the first place.
Anyway, a new advertisement from Samsung clearly pokes fun at the iPhone 4 signal issue without even mentioning the iPhone or Apple’s name in the poster. The ad simply shows the i9000 Galaxy S smart phone, the word “hello” and a signal bar graphic to replace the double “L”. It works, despite being the subtle message that it is. While it is also a successful ad even without the inside joke, those familiar with the situation are certain to appreciate it more.
On Twitter, Samsung has observed that the number of people complaining about the Apple iPhone 4 is increasing and is looking for suggestions on a new device. While not everyone is getting a free handset, Samsung has decided to give out free Galaxy S devices to certain individuals.
For those who want to get a free Galaxy S Android smart phone, there is another besides getting lucky in Twitter: and it involves getting lucky in Facebook. Users who like the official UK Samsung page will be eligible for an online raffle for free Galaxy S handsets.
